Flower Lovers Own Vases
It’s common knowledge that almost every woman owns a vase. Think about it, women love flowers – and usually expect them on various holidays – how else would they be able to receive them if they weren’t able to store them properly? In the mind of a woman it’s always best to be prepared for presents we know we want.
I own three different vases myself that range from little to big and bigger. A woman knows that flower bouquets come in many different sizes, thus, it’s best to be prepared for whatever comes your way. My best friend Shelia just bought a wooden vase. I was a little surprised at first at her nontraditional taste, but after reviewing its functionality in my head, I concluded that it’s a wonderful investment. Think about what’s possible with a vase that won’t break or crack!
Woodn’t it be Nice
Adding a variety of differently crafted decorations to your home is a guaranteed way to revive any ordinary living space. The days of tailoring everything in a room to look identical expired years ago. Your home should reflect who you are as a person. You don’t want your home to read: an obsessive compulsive plain Jane liver here – or do you?
It’s very easy to spruce up your home by adding touches of handcrafted wood décor. Carvings of animals, puzzles, ornaments and wall plaques are highlights of the many options to choose from when revamping your home. They’re great as wall decorations, centerpieces and mantel objects. Your friends and family will be jealous of these detailed and flawlessly crafted decorations. You’re sure to be the talk of the town.
Beauty below the Bark
It’s astonishing to think what a bit of human creativity and ingenuity can accomplish. You and I might look at a block of marble and see a nondescript chunk of rock. For an artist, this is the raw material required to chisel out a sculpture. Woodworkers are the same way – finding treasures in the logs and bits of timber that would normally be relegated to the fire pit.
Knots and other “imperfections” make pieces of wood uniquely suitable for wood turning. This process involves the use of a lathe to craft elegant bowls, vases and other decorative pieces. Knots and grain in the wood naturally create a pleasing aesthetic effect and set each piece apart from the rest. What looks like just another nondescript log could theoretically contain a genuine masterpiece.
Bring Out the Character of Your Home
Interior decorating can be a daunting task for the uninitiated, especially if it means starting from scratch. Luckily, a home’s unique character and external surroundings can do part of the work for you. Rather than trying to transform your home into something out of a Victorian novel or a Pacific isle, play off of its inherent features. For instance, a house in the woods practically calls out for a rustic cabin makeover.
Once you’ve settled on your overarching design motif, it’s time to adorn the home with accoutrements. You’ll be surprised at the way a few simple additions will jibe with the furniture and flooring you already have. Seek out some handmade wood décor – either light or dark depending on overall theme – and mix it in with your preexisting furniture. Place a homemade wooden basket atop an old table and witness the aesthetic transformation.
